Municipal building in Des Moines, Iowa. Ice skating facility to the left. Supposedly it’s used for other activities in the summer.

Famous Court Avenue bridge

Old railroad bridge. Are those old power lines dangling?

New pedestrian bridge with built in lookout.

Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines, claimed by many to be the most beautiful capitol in the country. Some day I’ll get shots from the inside.

NEAT photos! I especially like the skyline at night!
I’m moving to the DM area in a few weeks, so was just browsing for pix. Where is the pedestrian bridge? I will want to check that out.

It’s only a couple blocks away from Court Avenue. Just look down the river. I just found out it’s called the Union Railroad Bridge.
The Des Moines area is a great place to live. We don’t have the thriving night life and events of larger cities, but we don’t have their high crime rates either.
